Nothing special about a Pirelli gearbox.
What code is the gearbox?
Hello.
I have recently purchased a 2009 mk5 gti Pirelli and have found out that the gearbox is leaking dsg oil.
Also the clutchs need changing.
Hence I thought it best to change the entire gearbox.
I found a mk6 dsg for $1600 and was wondering if this would fit my car.
Also if someone could inform me if a normal mk5 gti dsg fits my car it would be great.
Thankyou all

Hey , you will most likely be able to refit all the parts mechanically, but hard part isn't retrofitting the box.
Mechatronic unit has to correspond to the engine vs Gear Box code as it will have to tell to your ESP and ABS communicating through CAN unit and registering onto your ECU. You will have to program the DGS. Make sure if you do end up doing this, you record the existing VAG codes of the replacing gearbox. You will need those exact codes if you want the engine to change smooths and not shake, stall, etc...
All of the mentioned are worth doing unless you want to be doing basic coding and having to drive car on the freeway and calibrting your 2nd and thir....etc
