VW's 3 Year Extended Warranty

I've been quote 1500 from Barloworld for a 2 year unlimited km extended warranty, is this the going rate at the moment?.

Pardon my ignorance. Do both VW and Allianz policy require the car to be serviced by no one but VW dealers during the extended period? As far as I am aware, I can go independents for the first three years without affecting the original warranty, but I will have to stick with VGA authorised service facility from the fourth year.

As long as it's a registered and licensed mechanic, any should be fine.

yes, if you go to VW dealer, they should be taking care of the claim, at least with my experience...

I spoke to Klosters and the refused to give me a new car extended warranty because im the second owner of the car still under the new car warranty.

Does this make a difference in terms of extended warranty?

I'm also a second owner and i had no problems getting mine extended for 36 months
