hi triode12, do you have Jamil's email or mobile? would like to contact him when he is back from holidays. I have been contacting CCC for 4 times now, once via email and 3 times via phone, everytime i called up, they said their business manager is either in meeting/busy, which is fair enough, and I left my details with them but till now, no one ever call me back. which is kinda frustrating

It worked!
As mentioned in my post (page 50, i think), i bought an extended warranty (the allianz one) from chatswood classic to cover my Golf FSI Pacific. During the holidays after drving it for about 3000 Kms, the exhaust warning lit up. Went to chatswood service centre and was told that the EGR valve was faulty and need repacement. Cost is $759, including labor! Enter extended warranty! very happy, not a single cent out of my pocket.
Just rang one dealer here in ACT (nthside) got quoted 3,590 for the Allianz backed warranty.. not negotiable.
Rang the sthside one... $1945. Can anyone send me contacks for the $1500 one that people have been getting? Although, my lease co. has me on a Swann one (came with lease) which is Swann/manufacturers but should i trust this one or just purchase an official VW one?

Read the fine print on the Swann warranty, carefully. Then decide, particularly based on what types of exclusions they list.
I've had a mate who had his car stolen then burnt out and Swann was his insurer. Swann got a private investigator, put him and his missus through multiple separate interrogations (no other way to describe it), and after a few months finally paid out with him hounding them. It was an awful experience.

hey guys,
just a heads up, the VW 3yr/60km New Car Extended warranty that is backed by Allianz has now changed to 2yrs/Unlimited kms. This is effective as of today. I know this cos I left it too late to get the 3yr/60k one and had no choice but to get the 3yr/100km (total) Allianz New Car Extended Warrranty, which I have been told is the same. Hopefully it is! I didn't want to the 2yrs/Unlimited one because I don't drive that much plus it costs more than the 3yr/60k one whis is silly! Escpecially for those who don't do much kms each year.
Anyways got my 3yr/100km (total) Allianz new car extended warranty through Chatswood Classic Cars (Amit). Great to deal with. I know this thread is only for the VW back one but if anyone can provide me feedback either through pm or via this thread with regards to making a claim. I just want to know if it is any different from the VW backed cover.
Cheers
hi bee,
I just get the same news today as well, also from chatswood classic. How much did you pay yours for?
Swann is only aftermarket extended warranty for term of lease and not car insurance.
According to Smart Salary, their Swann insurance is as per the VW one (but for my own needs, I will be purchasing the VW one as its piece of mind given the problem with my ACC at the moment.)
