Its the same, done thru the dealer, on the service record, even goes to 100k extra.
They have to go thru the same approval routine. They have found it easier to get claims approved too.
This is from the service management not a salesman.

Who is the warranty sold by?
    Who underwrites it?
    Is there a PDS online?
    Any limit on claims?

For those of you based in Mebourne, looking for a VW (Allianz) new car ext warranty, I would also recommend Eric from Burwin VW (Ferntree Gully). He gave me a good price, in line with what people here seem to be getting from Chatswood dealers.

Above email address doesn't seem to work. Anyone have an updated contact? Or new contact for that matter. Trying to get this sorted in the next couple of week.

Are you sure you've entered the address in properly? Someone used it only this week...

    Here's what I've typed so far: dee.****son@....
    Dee.****son@....
    addyee.****son@...

More than likely I'm stuffing it up. BTW just got a quote from Mario at Southern for $1992.30. Has it gone up that much in the last couple of months for a 2008 GTI DSG? Anyone got a better quote?

That's obviously not how I typed the addresses. The first was lower case "d's". Second was upper case "D's" and lastly I included "addy:" to the upper case.

I have a 5 year warranty through National Warranty group on my 2008 2.0TDI DSG with 40K on the clock at purchase. I think that its unlimited KM's, they offer various levels of cover depending on the age of the car and k's on the clock when you take out the warranty, not to sure if you can buy one at any stage?? or only when purchasing a car. I got mine with the finance on the car and it cost $1650-, Cover seems good ie up to $3000 on some part if they go wrong. You can also have the car serviced where you like but it must be done every 6 mths, then just fax them a copy of the invioice so that they can see that the work is being maintained.

plus having to get your car serviced twice as often, and then it only covering $3k when things like a DSG can still cost $5k after labour etc... plus it's just as expensive (more so even) than the actual REAL Volkswagen Factory Warranty...

These $1500 warranties that some people have been getting... are they actual VW warranties, or 3rd party? I just got a quote for $2590 off a VW dealer for an "official manufacturer extended warranty". Does this sound about right?
