I am thinking of getting the extended warranty as it expires in March 2012 on my MKV GTI, what have people been paying so I have an idea?
The car will also be sold next year, would a extended VW warranty attract car buyers or would it be a waste of money??
I just got an extended warranty from Chatswood Classic cars - $1439.80 was the price for a golf 118 TSI DSG. This is an excellent saving compared to the others which was around $2600. My most sincere thanks for the person/s who negotiated this price and told others of this deal. As suggested, I emailed Rashid and I was contacted by David at the firm.
I'd suggest you read the Product Disclosure Statement supplied with your quote. It would be foolish to sign up for any type of financial product without being aware of & understanding the terms & conditions.
2. Transfer of the policy
If, during the period of insurance, you privately sell your vehicle to a person other than a
motor vehicle dealer, cover under your policy will continue with the new owner, provided
that:
a. you complete the transfer form contained in the back of this policy document ; and
b. you return it to us accompanied by:
• a copy of the Scheduled service records;
• copy of the vehicle’s Roadworthy certifi cate or inspection report; and
• the warranty transfer fee of $75 including GST (do not send cash); and
c. the person named in the transfer form as the new owner observes all the terms and
conditions of your policy.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Purchased through Nathan as previously mentioned in thread. Fantastic price and great service. Thanks to all on this forum who helped spread the love!!
I'm a newbie - first post this morning in the new members area.
I've discovered that the 2008 2.0TDi DSG GT Sport I'm looking at was first registered on April 3, 2008, so it's 2 days out of new car warranty. Does anyone think I have a chance of getting the new car extended warranty for this car - I'll call the dealer here to see what he has to say, but anyone else have any suggestions about what I should do?
