Well, you maybe don't like that word "fraudulent" but I believe that word is used by insurance companies and Maverick done nothing that should offend you, since he stated that Allianz saw it as the fault existed when the policy was taken. It means that the fault was there during manufacturer warranty and VW should cover the cost of repair.
It is the same as if someone would take insurance policy after he had his car broken.
Of course you have done nothing wrong, you were just caught in argument who is going to pay for the repair. Either the way, you should get it repaired under the warranty, VW or Allianz.

The insurance industry defines fraud as an attempt to deceive the insurer.
There are generally four categories into which insurance claims can be denied.
1. Non-disclosure which doesn't apply for this claim (you could possibly say this applies but it depends on the insurer and even if it did it would still also fall under 3 below)
2. Exclusion clauses which doesn't apply for this claim
3. Fraud
4. Policy cancellation which doesn't apply
Fraud can be defined as hard or soft fraud and this would fall under soft fraud.

I 100% agree with you that he didn't do anything illegal.
But..
that wouldn't be very accurate description for them. Just imagine that they probably list it somewhere in the file and next to the claim no. would be "misdirected claim", that would make anybody working with this file to want to open it to redirect it, wasting the time reading it again.
Labeling it fraudulent would mean - yeah we don't have to touch it.
Isn't it actually VW dealer claiming it? In which case the car owner shouldn't really get offended.

I believe mmanda (Amanda) is a lady and not a guy.
Yes thankyou. I am a lady not a he or a guy!
Anyways, I'm over this whole 'fraudulent' rubbish.... I am an honest person and was fully transparent with all the info I provided. The dealer decided to make the claim with Allianz with the info I provided them. it was their decision to put in the claim with A first and not VW. I didn't really have anything to do with it.
So lets move forward shall we!
I got my car back. The door works. It didnt cost me anything. I love the car. Thats it!

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I've just purchased a VW extended warranty from Kim at the sub $1400 price.
Very Happy Thankyou!
Quick question, is the extended warranty still available after the standard warranty has elapsed (by a couple of weeks) or does it have to have current warranty?
