are all these extended factory (or I assumed it's dealer provided) warranty are basically the same, outsourced, 3rd party used car warranty that we often get when buying used cars off dealers?
Hey Everyone,
Just read through this entire thread.
Has definately answered a few of my questions.
Just hope the deals that were negotiated through the members of this forum (great work guys!) are still valid, when I'm looking to buy an extended warranty around christmas/new years.
Thanks to everyone who contributed
EDIT: Just have some questions that have come to mind...
1. Just to clarify/confirm - from what I have read in this thread, the extended new car warranty applies to the vehicle itself, not exclusively the registered owner of the vehicle at the time the extended warranty was purchased?
2. If the answer to question 1 is yes - If the registered owner of the car is a company because it is a leased car, does that complicate things? What would be the process of purchasing an extended warranty if this is the case? (I'm planning on purchasing the car at the end of its lease)
3. General clarification on the finer details of the warranty, ie what is covered / what isn't covered & how warranty claims work, etc. I assume that should be answered in the PDS. Is the PDS posted earlier in this thread still valid or has a new version been released? I'll have to give it a read.
Thanks sooo much in advance. Anything that can be answered would be greatly appreciated.

has anyone claimed on the extended warranty yet and how hard / prompt was the process through Allianz and the dealer etc?
B6 Passat Wagon No KESSY
Well with my door issue last Friday. VW Essendon approached Allianz in the morning with the claim and by about 2pm Allianz had rejected it based on the fact that the policy was only 2 days old AND my car was 1 day out of its new car warranty.
So they were very quick in rejecting it.
Also, the guys at the service dept said that Allianz will reject a claim for any car that doesnt have the proper servicing history. He said he's seen this happen quite a few times for engine relatd issues.
Thats my only experience with it to date and hopefully my only experience ever!
