If the original 3 year factory warranty has already lapsed, you can get a 3 year extended used car warranty with a $2000 cap on each repair/replacement.

so how much am i looking for this one? and is it still factory warranty or just dealer's?

Call up Jaz of Southern Classic Cars and/or Jamil of VW Denlo Parramatta. They can give you a price on the VW extended warranty (remember that your car must be under the original factory warranty to qualify). Make sure you ask specifically for the Original VW extended warranty and mention that you do not want dealer warranty (which is useless).

I'd call up both Jaz and Jamil. Buy from the person who gives you the lowest quote. Remember to mention you are from the forum.

OK, putting only info on what the extended warranty is costing people into a fresh thread for ease of finding the info isn't something people think makes sense so here's the info I posted. Hope it helps. (although it will probably be lost in the forum ether).

Is that the official VW extended warranty or dealer warranty? AFAIK, the VW extended warranty is only for an extra 3 years or 160,000km (whichever comes first). There isn't a choice of 100,000 or 200,000km warranties.

Unless VW have made changes recently to their vehicle extended warranty that I am unaware of.

AFAIK it's a VW extended warranty as that's what was specifically asked for. I wouldn't expect Phillip to try and sell my sister a dealer warranty that locks her (or any future owners of her car) into a dealer warranty that basically renders it worthless if she (or the car) moves interstate - he comes across as better than your average salesman. When I know for sure, I'll post back.
