Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) can be helpful for insurance products.

36 months 75,000klm New Vehicle Warranty from Allianz for $1987.51

36 months EMW from Avea Insurance for $1472
60 months EMW from Avea Insurance for $1727

Any one with experience with Avea ?
Based on my one and last claims experience with Allianz they will never a see a cent of my money again, I would consider anything issued by Allianz as significantly less valuable than the paper it's written on.

He also informed me of what appears to be a 3rd 'VW equivalent' warranty option underwritten by Swann insurance? He says that is the highest selling so far at Camberwell VW?

Based on my claims experience with Swann I would rate it somewhere between Allianz's value and that of the envelope in which they deliver their bull**** excuses.

I had a Swann extended warranty and had a water leak from the EGR Cooler Valve into the exhaust. I was about 12 months into the warranty when I required a claim which they did everything they could to get out of paying. They requested the VW service history which has always been performed as required, with the exception of the last service which was a week outside of the scheduled service, or about 500k's in my case. VW argued my case and it was only through their relationship they met the cost of replacing the valve and then cancelled the warranty and refunded a small portion of the remaining premium, citing the poor service history of the vehicle as their excuse. Swann insurance is no longer supported by the dealer who sells 100+ cars per month!

I had a comprehensive insurance policy with Allianz on a Honda which I owned prior the Golf. Leaving home one day a woman was approaching from the other direction and went out around a parked car head on into ours. I had my wife in the car, she was alone. She braked so hard she popped her rear tyre, I hadn't seen her until it was too late. I was clearly in the right with a witness to prove it. Said woman lied through her teeth to her insurance company and Allianz forced me to pay the excess. Allianz through their process requested a copy of my driving history which I had fully disclosed to the broker who arranged the cover, including loss of license through accumulation of demerit points. On that basis they partially paid the claim and cancelled the policy only refunding a portion of the premium, despite having recently renewed it.

Neither will see a cent from me nor any of my clients again.

    Hey all,

I’ve read as many post as i could before i became as confused as hell lol

What i have worked out is that there are 2 main choices

    Allianz 3 year extended warranty
    And
Vw 2 year extended warranty Genuine

Has anyone had an issues with claiming with the Allianz one, or not worth the risk?

Who is the best contact for purchasing extended warranty, my mates VW is outta warranty late next month and I’ll said I’ll ask you guys/girls for advice and contacts.

    Cheers.

I bought an 06 R32 from a dealer last September (2011) and paid for an Allianz 3 year factory warranty extension, was around $2500 from memory, but worth it in my opinion. Don't know how they did it, but it's approved and I've already made two claims with no worries, albiet small claims. Policy parts and labour capping is as per full factory new car warranty, replacement value limited to the value of the car.

    Hi guys,

Just want to gauge your thoughts on which warranty I should go with - 103TDI Golf MK6 MY11.

    Allianz -36 Month / 75,000km - bumper to bumper (Assuming genuine VW) - $1987.51
Allianz Assured - 36 Month / up to 200,000km (assuming on the vehicle in total - not quite as thorough) - $1895.00

I don't think I'll be doing 75K in the three year period after the VW warranty expires... so it might be worthwhile paying the extra $100 to go with the full cover warranty?

Assuming that the cheaper one wouldn't pay for example, a failed gearbox replacement, and the latter would, the $100 will pay for itself in about 30 seconds
