That's odd - As far as I knew only Allianz was involved in VW's 3 year 'NEW CAR' extended warranty...I'm starting to shop around too for my extended warranty would love to know what you were quoted if you can share the info PM me!

Why not get the proper warranty that Volkswagen offer with Allianz? The AGI warranty won't offer the same coverage not to mention it won't be as convenient for claims as the Volkswagen one which shows up when the dealer does a warranty check (shows extended warranty, type, policy number, expiry date, expiry kms etc) so claims will likely take longer.

I haven't looked at the PDS for the AGI warranty but outside the factory backed warranties the aftermarket warranties are not generally worth it.

Im yet to see if it is as you say "A proper warranty"

I will go and see the details next week.
Covers an extra 100k in lieu of 60k.. At least worth me investigating further.
    No money paid yet.

But... how do you know its the best, what have you compared it too?
I know others who have had Allianz with other brands and have had issues

Ill see next week after I get more details and hoprfully more facts.

Ive nothing against the Alliance one, may get it yet..

Contact one of the dealers listed in this thread and ask for a warranty quote and check with your local dealer.

Alyce has given me the best Allianz R32 quote so far.
    Give her a call.

One thing to note after talking to 3 dealers Allianz or the other co I quoted do not pay for Diagnostics at all.
Things are getting tighter out there...

This may be true but using Allianz extended warranty at a vw service centre worked for me recently. They rebuilt my dsg vw coped the diagnostic costs and allianz paid the rest. German auto wouldnt touch it as they didnt want to have to chase me down for diagnostic costs after the event. If you use another aftermarket insurance do you rekon vw would pay for diagnositc?

I bought my Passat in 2006 on release. At the time there was only option to purchase 2 years extended warranty.

Does anyone know if I can purchase 1 more year now? My extended warranty will end in August.
