Good point Mikinoz - I will speak to Wollongong and see if I can get something in concrete for members of this forum - as it stands right now they just quote GOOD prices and i am going to buy my cover from there - I will let you know if anything 'group buy' related comes to fruition but in the meantime , they still appear to rock!

36 months original warranty for $1400 from South Yarra Volkwagen. MKV Golf GTI.
Apparently someone got it for $1387 from a dealer in NT in VwVortex.
What are the km stipulations? If I keep my car for more than 3 years it'll tick over 100,000kms well before the end of 3 years.
VW Extended warranty covers up to 160,000kms over the next 36 months (ie. Insurance covers max 160,000kms on your odometre).
PM me and i'll send you the PDS if you like
From the PDS
“period of insurance” means the period from the time when the original manufacturer’s
standard new car warranty period on your vehicle ends to the earlier of the following:
i. 36 months after the original manufacturer’s standard new car warranty period on your
vehicle ended; or
ii. when the odometer reading reaches 60,000 kilometres more than the reading when
the original manufacturer’s standard new car warranty period on your vehicle ended; or
iii. when the odometer reading on your vehicle reaches 160,000 kilometres.

Definitely get the VW Allianz Extended Warranty as that gives the best coverage (ie. If something is faulty, the dealer can deal with it straight away directly with Allianz.. + gives you up to 160,000kms)...
I rang around. Camberwell VW was giving me an after market 2 year warranty with up to 100,000kms (but also covers tyres and wheels - ie nails or slashed tyres - which is fantastic), for $1,100, but decided to go VW original.
I had the same quote from VW Camberwell (Melb) ~ $1400 for 3 years cover (up to 100,000kms) but they are not with Allianz. They use Suncorp. From what I have heard, Suncorp has fairly significant limitations (caps) on repairs.
Does anyone have the Allianz extended warranty PDS (in PDF format) as I would like to check a few things. The main thing I would consider the extended warranty for is the DSG but I don't want there to be a $2000 cap on repairs and I would have to fork out the rest.
Also, does anyone know how mods to the car would affect the warranty. I have intake and exhaust mods. The dealer said that those items would obviously not be covered by the warranty and as long as they did directly affect any of the failed parts then the repairs would be covered under warranty (extend). Ultimately, I guess any mods could be somehow linked to something (even 0.000001% effect), so how can I be sure there would not be any issues ?
Cheers
I have the Allianz PDF sent to me by another dealer , ie not Wollongong though your post made me email them to check their warranty document etc. verbally they advised it is a VW product and the Allianz one is pretty straight forward with little to no limitations other than tyres and batteries as per the original warranty.
PM with your email address ad I will send you the PDF.
Cheers
