Hi
Ive got a 2004 model Golf V and the indicator clicking has stopped working, although the indicator works, and the indicator light on the dashboard does it's thing as well. VW has quoted 1600 AUD to fix this since the central electronic board needs replacement (??). I have no other issues with lights etc. Anyone able to help with ideas?
the clicking noise for the indicators is generated by a speaker as they dont run through a relay anymore. as no relay thete is no sound so the sound is now "man made". the central electrics sends the signal to make the noise but i think the actaul speaker is in the dash panel insert. they must have tested the dash insert with final control to make sure the noise is there but found central electrics not activating it. not alot you can do. either put up with no noise or relace the ecu.. ...VDUB...
