    Towing with my Jetta

    Hello

My 2007, 2.0fsi has a Hayman Reese 1400kg towbar and the car's manual states 1400kg braked, how do you think I'd go towing an 800kg gross boat and braked trailer, especially up an incline like at a boat ramp ?

    Thanks
    Nick

Hi, cant comment about the 2.0fsi.
I got the 07 tdi also with hayman reese etc.
i tow my car trailer with race car of total 1300-1400kg with no issues at all. (But then again it probably makes a difference as the diesel has heaps of torque).
I also tow my 4.3m tinny with no issues at all and barely know it is behind me.
Done a few launches on solid sand with no issue. Just make sure you got traction. Concrete ramps are no issue at all for me, no matter how steep.

    Hope that helps.

If it's an auto (Non DSG), get the transmission serviced if it wasn't done at 60,000kms.

Thanks, it is an auto but only 42k on the clock. Should I get the transmission done anyway?

I would consider it if towing is on the agenda.
