    Sorry for the late update but we've moved house in the meantime and not much time for car repairs. We did manage to use the tool on the front brakes and it worked very well. Haven't yet tackled the rears but I imagine it will also work fine. Seems to be a good tool so far.

    Reviving an old thread. I purchased the same kit as metako for $26 posted from an Aust. supplier. Amazing value.

    I used it last weekend on the rear brakes & found No7 adapter fitted my '06 Golf TDI. I can confirm both sides screw in clockwise using the RH screwing jack used in conjunction with the banana shaped backing plate. I may write up some notes on my experience when I get a chance if there is any interest.
    Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.
