Swapping in a GTI bumper on a TDI?

Hi Everyone,

I just got a 2005 Mk 5 Golf TDI and I've been looking into improving how it looks. I've read that others have been able to swap in a Mk 5 GTI bumper, but I can't seem to work out where I could purchase a GTI bumper from. This is my first car and I'm pretty new to modifications/maintenance in general, so I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this?

you'll get the bits from a wreckers.

You'll need to wire in the fogs and possibly change the cabin switch. Most of the hidden clips will have hardened by now so you'll a few replacements.

This is money you'll never recoup on sale so the change needs to be high on the personal satisfaction list. You might be better saving the money for the inevitable repairs that will be needed on a 9yo vehicle.

Maybe just experiment with some paint or plastidip?

Wreckers is definitely going to be your best bet. Also I believe the GTI grille/bumper set up will need some trimming to fit a TDI. Not 100% on this just remember seeing it on some other group, so might be worth investigating that. Also just FYI you can different grille setups that will require a lot less work.
