Should be mostly plug and play.
The airbag can be difficult to release, and the cars st3ring wheel electrics module may not be compatible with the controls.
Hey guys, Done a brief search but came up with no specific results.
Interested to switch a Mkv R32 wheel into a Mkv Jetta.
Seems a simple swap, wondering if anyone has done one recently?
Is it a simple plug and play with air bag connectivity etc?
Interested in your thoughts.

I'd add both cars are manual, no paddles?
The GT, GTI and R32 have black airbag modules, whereas the standard Golf's is grey (I think). Not sure about the Jetta's.
Therefore, if getting a wheel without the airbag module, make sure the one you already have is black.

How do I tell if I have a black module? Sorry if stupid question..
I was referring to the exterior plastic colour. In all other respects they are identical.
If you have a grey airbag module you will have a black steering wheel with a grey centre, creating a two-tone look.

Ok nice one. Yeah it's black. Thanks so much for the info.
If you have a DSG paddles will work after programming with VCDS, the non-DSG auto's don't seem to respond to the paddles, even after programming![]()
