sportline head unit

hi all

looking at buying a 2005 Sportline that has this head unit in it



(sorry idk why it's gone sideways...)

anyway i can't find whether or not this is a genuine or aftermarket unit as all other sportlines i've seen haven't got this style radio. what do you guys think?

Its one of many aftermarket nav units.
Not familiar with which one as there are many very similar.

Wrong kamold.

It is a Factory fitted MFD2 head unit not aftermarket.

So this HU. Is it not as common? And also the full screen FIS - is it not as common as most on car sales are half and half?

I'm old and wouldn't have a clue what FIS is.
The mfd2 was the factory option sat nav headunit and are pretty common.
They are pre rns510

Not too common at all. Probably only seen maybe a handful of them ever. I even replaced a faulty one with a new RNS510 under warranty!

RNS510 didn't come here til late '07/early '08.

FIS is the dash led display.

Pre RNS510 units. Old skool satnav from VW. Used to be few fitted in T5 vans. Full height MFD displays more common on the 2008 models orr higher specs like GTI.
