    R32 Battery or Alternator?

    Hi everyone,

    I have a Nov 2007 MY08 R32.

In the last few days sitting at the traffic lights and now happening more and more often, it revs to a bit over a 1000 rpms for 30 seconds, like as if I've just turned it on. Then it goes back to normal idling speed.

Maybe the battery or alternator is going?

It's never had a battery change so nearly factory battery going for nearly 7 years...it's one of the ones in the boot.

Poor battery condition does cause all sorts of weird and wonderful running problems even with a good alternator. Battery would definetely be a good start to test it and see its state. Also ensure that the terminals are clean.

Thanks, will look into the battery. I'm probably pretty lucky it's lasted this long.
