    Photo request MK5 GTI Grill

    Hi,

I had a prang and just got the car back from the repairers today.

Inside my grill I can see some silver which I am sure was black before.

The part I am talking about is the silver in the lower part behind the grill here:

Should there be some kind of black cover on this part or is it normal and I am remembering incorrectly. If someone could take a similar photo that would be great.

    Thanks

Almost certain it should be black. I've got a red GTI and it would be pretty noticeable if that section were red. Looks like they've blanket spayed the bumper not thinking that section is visible through the grille. A solution might be to remove the grille and spray that section with black plastic dip? Unless you were to make a complaint with the shop and get them to paint that section.

Yeah it seems very noticeable. Im sure that before the repairs all I could see behind the grill was black.

Plastidip is a good idea, there is another problem with the bonnet gaps not being even so I might get them to fix it when I take it back for that.

    I had the same issue.

They just scrubbed the paint too. All good.
