I have a friend looking at buying his son his first car and is very interested in a 2006/7 Golf V Has anybody got a digital copy of VW Australia's brouchure of the car from around that era? He is keen on getting him a manual 2 litre TDI with the 103kw motor is this the same engine that was sold in the golf 6 and currrent Tiguan? The 2L TDI in the 06/07 Golf will go forever.
I've just bought a Jetta, 07, with the same motor and 150,000km. To me it's not even half way through it's life. I've also got the 125kw 2L TDI from that era, with DPF, diff injectors etc etc and it's also bullet proof, as it's close to 200,000km and it's as good as the day I got it.
As long as it's been serviced properly at the intervals, it's apples. If not, don't bother. My experience has been, if you service them properly, they are great. If you don't, they bite you, hard.
