hey dudes

I got a 2008 mk5 jetta which only has one remote/key/transponder, I ordered a remote fob with FCCID matching my car from ebay for $12

from what I can tell the jetta has immo 4

I want to program a second remote for the car, now unlike mk4 it seems that the remote itself needs to be done via VCDS is that right? you cant do the insert the key into ignition and lock / unlock with the new remote for it to code learn the new remote/ fob ?

regarding the transponders from what i've read they're TP23 ID48 chips that can be programmed to the car via vag tacho...

I have some parts on order to give all of this a go

if anyone has any further info let me know, otherwise i'll post up my progress here
