Hi, have been reading these forums for quite some time prior to becoming the happy new owner of a Golf MKV - the info on this site was very much appreciated in the lead up to my purchace.
Just wondered if anyone else has had issues with the RCD 300 head unit. I may be a bit old fashioned but I listen to AM most of the time. I have noticed that the reception on AM with the RCD 300 is very poor compared to my previous and most other cars I have been in. In particular, it appears to be very "scratchy" and seems to have some interference.
Anyone else had similar experience? FM seems OK.
Also it seems that there is a "vibration-rattle" from the headunit when I play a CD.
As a newbe I have tried doing a search on the forums - without success - so please be kind if I have missed something.

Anyone else enjoy a Golf which makes loud clunking noises under braking?
Well, a known issue - the 2.0FSI Cruise stalk - ours is now intermittantly on the fritz.
(Didnt stop me ordering a new gti though!)

I thought that it was all sorted? How much damage was there? It was a rear ender wasn't it?
I've yet to have damage repaired properly from any accident and I'm hoping I never got to find out on the GTI but that's why I ran away from AAMI and went to CGU so I can choose the repairer. Not interested in going to below par body shops and waste my time getting things done over and over again.

Another good question as I assume it could be a sign of a problem as I have seen others complain of bulb life before.
Is it normal for the H7 main headlight globes to go all smokey and black? The drivers side is fine, the passenger side was the blackened one. Visually it looks as if the passenger side may be getting more volts than the drivers side, as it is a brighter headlamp (this is with the new bulbs).
Strange anyway...I guess i'll know if its an issue again in another 6 months time (i hope i dont find out TBH).
BTW - the golfs headlights are now much better with narva blue vision (osram) bulbs. They're still on the average side but I'm pretty pleased now.
