Pirelli tread patterned microfiber seats are pure gold. Especially given that they seat you in 230+HP of K04 blown action
Found out today that the seat has a sensor or something to say someone is sitting there and doesnt have their seatbelt on.
Found out by putting my shopping on the seat and drove off and the seatbelt sound was going off.....drove me nuts till i removed the bag off the seat.

For me it came down to buying a refined hatchback, that looked good and drove and handled well!

Just sold my 05 GTI, very sad day that was.
Always thought it was a great looking car that aged well. Obviously went well but not so intimidating that the wife wouldn't drive it - quite the opposite when she got the hang of it. It was practical for the family right up to the moment we had our 3rd!
It was easy to repair, basically just a torx set and you're good to go.
In a few years when the kids are at school we might look at a MK7 or 8 by then.
For me - Last of the VR6 mated with a lightning quick DSG, especially when I found one in the "R" DBP blue, fully optioned with sunroof, the heated Recaro seats and reverse sensors, I couldn't resist.
Still small enough and 'girly' looking enough for the wife to be happy to drive around too.
5.4L lifetime economy, can't get much better than that.
