Is ther a spring wave washer that may be fighting against you?
Need to push hard.
Hi all,
I had to remove my back seats because I had a child up-chuck due to being car sick. I took out the bolts that held the seat belt buckles in and not I am having trouble re-seating them.
The bolt is a tapered, and I can't seem to get it to catch the thread. I'm out near Dandenong, any ideas on getting any help with this. I have tried, but the bolts just seem that little too short.
I also have the issue of the passenger side door not wanting to unlock. I know it is a common problem in the Golf. I have looked for info on how to fix it, which is fine, but I can not get the door open to remove the panels to even get at the mechanisms. I think I might be at the stage of needing a new door panel, and drilling/cutting out the old one.
I enjoy my TDI, just wish I could these items fixed & for as little as possible.
Thanks if you have any ideas.

The door mechanisms on the golfs is a common issue and when the stuff up you can not open the door as it usually will not unlock. This does not mean new door panel. Just need to remove door trim from inside and use a big flat head screw drive and hammer to hit the mech to get it to unlock. Have done this many times as I'm a panel beater by trade and the shop I work in does warranty work for vw dealer.
Keep trying with the bolts, they will eventually seat into place.
As for the door lock issue, keep trying to lock and unlock the door while banging on the door near the locking mechanism, just keep hitting it repetitively and it should free it up allowing you to open the door.
