How do I get this look on my soon to arrive GTI MK5?

Hey all.

100% noob in the world of car mods/tweaking. As I said in Newbies Corner I have inherited a MK5 Golf GTI. With the cash I'd planned to spend on a new car I instead now want to spruce this thing up.

It's a midnight blue manual. I'm pretty keen on changing it aesthetically and getting a stage 1 tune done. The tune seems the easiest of the two as the cosmetic stuff seems harder to source.

I plan on having it resprayed black and chasing this look:



Any help with what has actually gone on here would be amazing....

For example can you bug that grill or is that someone's handy work?
