Hard to Comment really without seeing or experiencing the complaint. But the cars do behave completely different when in or on the verge of limp mode.
What was wrong with the abs??

The abs module control went in my car a few weeks ago, go to a VW wreckers and pick one up for around $400 and pay someone to install it and recode it, don't wait or waste anytime you can cause serious damage. It cost me $460 to have it installed and recoded in Thomastown/Victoria.
I am experiencing stiffer gear changes; harder (sometimes impossible) to select a gear.

Mechanic is intending to check for air in the clutch hydraulics; NRMA suggested "pressure plates".
Anyone had something similar diagnosed?
If the answer to the Monty Hall problem was 50/50, the contestant, on average, would win the car 50% of the time simply by sticking with their original guess...but you can only win a one-in-three guessing game 33.33% of the time so it can't be 50/50, can it?
And also . . . since new, if I stall my GTI, typically straight after starting or if I under crank engine and it fails to ignite, the engine sounds like the percussion section of 10cc - rattles, cowbells and bangs - a bit like the soundtrack of "The Spy Who Loved Me" when the van blows its cylinder head gasket in the desert (the van being a Leyland Sherva, apparently, there was no need for SPFX in that scene and it might have been the first movie in which a car ad libbed).
Anyone else experience this (the noise not the Sherva)?
