I thought they were 256mm on the rear, but 1mm wont make a difference.
If there was a 20-30mm difference then id be worried.
Hi
I need to replace the rear rotors on my gti and had a look online and it says the 255mm rotors fit my gti but I was also told the 256mm is the stock fitment.
So does anyone know if the 255mm fit or is it only the 256mm.
Thanks

that's what i was thinking but then I checked this site. Volkswagen Golf 5 GTI Technical Specs, Dimensions then that muddied the waters even more. it says the rear rotor on the GTI mk5 are 286mm.
I took the wheel off and measured the disc it's 283mm
I just looked on the Automotive Superstore site which is where I recently bought new Bosch disks for my own Mk7 GTI. They have several listings saying they fit the Mk5 GTI and the sizes of the disk vary - looks like you might need to measure yours first.
I know VW changed rear disk and caliper size on the Mk6 GTI during its production, so perhaps they also did it with the Mk5?
