Wondering similar question about my mk5 2.0 TDI, will res delete make it sound better/give dsg pops? (not looking at actual performance mods yet, will probably look at tune later down the track)
Hey Guys, I just recently bought a GT Sport 1.4 TSI. Awesome little car, anyway I was just wondering does the car sound good with a resonator delete? the car is to quiet stock. On a side note will it allow me to get the DSG pops/farts when it shifts gear. if not is there anyway I get the DSG pops/farts or is it not possible in the GT Sport. Your help would be much appreciated.

On the 1.4 twincharger, removing the supercharger insulation would be top of my list, as well as swapping the big rear pancake for a sports muffler. Yep that will give you more noise, but DSG pops are fuel, and your 1400cc will never match a 2.0 for pop noise, but it will have some.
On the TDI if you have a GT TDI / DPF model, forget it, the DPF is the worlds best muffler. If not, then taking the muffler off entirely will give it the hollow whine those big 4x4's that have straight through exhausts have, diesels run lean so DSG pops are almost impossible, but it would be fine to swap it out for a sports muffler on a non DPF version for more growl.
