Golf mk5 1.6 FSI RCD510 and Air bag fault

Hi guys, so yesterday i just fit an RCD510 to my 2005 VW Golf MK5 1.6 FSI SE, I've read on the internet that i will be having a battery drain so now i'm pulling out the fuse, Do you have a fix for it apart from updating the can bus? I've read that you can jump the fuse one lead in the radio holder and another one in an empty fuse but i don't know which to use on my fuse box since the once i saw are alot different, any help or someone had the same problem ?


The other thing is that after i changed my RCD300 to an RCD510 everything worked fine but the airbag light came on the dash, i tried disconnecting the battery and nothing happened when i start it goes away then it turns back on after 2 seconds what do you think it is from? Thanks

Picture of your fusebox in engine compartment? or google and tell me if it's lowline or highline.

About airbag, i guess you disconnected airbag light with ignition on. Only diagnostic cable is able to solve that problem, with fault clearing.

Its a 2005 golf mk5 1.6 FSI SE lowline i guess not too much extras the usual standard extras.

This is my fuse box layout but i have different fuses and the relay number is different but the layout is the same.

and how to decide which slots are good? i have some empty slots right there where you marked i will use one of them, your sure i will have not battery drain ?

All slots are good, cause they are terminal 87a, it's controlled via ECU relay. If ECU terminates signal for relay also radio will be cut from power. You just have to check which leg is supply for fuse and which one is for circuit.

Hi again, this is my fuse box right know, after a long time switched off the radio is asking for the code so i guess its switching off right?

Is radio turning off few seconds after key is removed and turning back on with ignition?
