Which is annoying for P platers like me because my FSI cost basically the same as a GTI

I would definitely make sure the car is checked by a mechanic before buying. For that price, there is a good chance that there are a few things that would need to be done within 6 months of purchasing this GTI, regardless of roadworthy or not. Otherwise, looks pretty damn good!!

I still cant beleive how cheap Mk5 GTI's are.

There is a few 07/08, low 100ks and manual for $13-16k.

    Geeeeeez these are cheap now.

I paid $16k for my MY 09 DSG GTI with 99000 km just before christmas . Full service history, brand new Michelins, sunroof etc. That was from a reputable VW dealer on Sydney's Northside. Also had belts done and DSG service at97000 k

In Sept last year i picked up a MY06 gti Stock no options 145k kms full log book service history including receipts and a 1 owner from a wholesaler on the north shore for $8.5k even had 2 months rego. Other than a few worn bits of trim it has been good. They are such good value cars!

I picked up my 2008 MK5 GTI DSG for under $10k a few months ago, its got 190,000kms but was looked after.

All up including some mods ive done- whiteline rear sway bar, ALK, Eibach Sportlines (not fitted yet), Bluefin stage 1 + full service including DSG oil & filter ive spent around $12k.

Great value for a fun little track toy with spare change to build a better motor if this one goes kaboom !

picked up my 10/2008 jetta turbo DSG (same engine as the gti) couple of weeks ago for 9k with 1 year rego and roadworthy. Full leather, media screen and sunroof, and full service history from VW. Quite the deal I must say
