Fitting an RCD 510 into my 2008 Golf R32

I am looking to fit an RCD 510 into my 2008 Golf R32 and i have a couple of questions...

Given my car is a 2008 ( MY2008 ) car. I think i should have the updated 'L' or higher CAN module? So i shouldn't suffer the battery drain issues??
And i have a full height MFA..... So other than the aerial adapter (i understand this is part number 7L6 051 551) I think my car should accept the unit without any need for coding/programming? Is this correct?

So my main questions are - Given that i am fitting the unit for two reasons:

    1: The Bluetooth integration
2: It looks much better than my factory RCD500

    1. Will i have to route a microphone cable for talking hands free? I don't relish having to do this, especially up the A-pillar trim where there are SRS airbags.
    2. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 - Will i be able to Bluetooth music and/or will my factory (armrest mounted) Aux in still work?

This is the very unit i am looking to buy:

stuff the RCD519/ RNS510. It is trash.

Look into the RCD330 w/ Android Auto and Apple Carplay (Check if your cars year is compatible with steering wheel controls)
or else look for a Full android head unit, such as Joying (Google it, theres plenty of info)

These all fit and look OEM, but offer a **** tonne more features.

It's a good price for RCD510 and the BT unit.
If the BT unit is 9WZ or 9W7 it will stream music.

If you go for cheaper Android auto unit like, then keep in mind that to get the navigation and apps working, you have to connect your with the USB cable.

I'm happy with the RCD510 unit in my Amarok, it does all I need and I don't like plugging USB cable every time I seat in the car.

...and no, the RCD510 or RNS510 aren't trash, they go with the cars they were designed for very well.

Thanks for all the advice and feedback.
So the RCD510 in the link didn't have the BT module that would stream music.
And I managed to find a RCD330 for $199 (delivered)
Hopefully it will be here next week.

    Hey Richard300,

How did you go with the install of the RCD330? Did you have to do the ignition power mod to stop the unit from staying powered? Did the unit connect up to the factory steering wheel harness in your Jetta/Golf?
    Cheers
