    ECU Dump from Instrument Cluster

My car: 2006 VW Golf MK5 GTI 5-door

I recently upgraded my instrument cluster from a mid-line (red) to a highline (red) cluster.

All looks to be ok, except when I switch the cruise control on, the cruise control symbol in the cluster does not light up. If I put my old mid-line cluster back in, it lights up as it should.

I've checked all settings via VCDS, and everything tells me the cruise control system is enabled.

I thought it might be a blown globe, but I’ve had it on good authority that it's more likely to be the ECU of the new cluster, and can be rectified with a slight ECU programming change. I have a contact in Sydney who can look at the ECU code for me, I just need to get an ECU dump done in the first place to send to him.

Was wondering if there’s anyone in Adelaide who has the right tools to perform an ECU dump from the instrument cluster? I’m happy to come to you.

The ECU dump you need is the engine ECU (MED9) not the instrument cluster control module.
