Is a dsg map necessary for stage 2

Hey guys im looking to get a stage 2 custom map for my pirelli gti (no hpfp) and wanted to get people’s opinion on running the ecu map without a dsg map too.

A DSG tune is not necessary when tuning the engine, but you will get a better all round tune and driving experience if you tune the DSG as well, as it raises the torque limits inside the gearbox, allowing the tuner to tune some more torque into the engine tune as they wont have to try and avoid hitting the torque limits in the DSG.

In addition to the torque limit increase, you have the other benefits of the DSG tune which makes it more enjoyable to drive.
