    Door lock woes

So the left passenger door started to play up recently (replaced the right a few months back thanks to Umai Naa who fixed the stupid handle locking mechanism which prevented me from reassembling).

I replaced the complete lock mechanism today (this time without incident, lessons learnt).
However the door is still intermittently sticking.

Can hear the lock motor cycling normally, but the door handles (both interior and exterior) do not unlock the door. Cycle the lock mechanism some indeterminate number of times and play with the handle and eventually it opens again.

Anyone had similar issues or can suggest what to look at?

    Thanks

Try adjusting the exterior handle cable slightly slacker.... some times if its too tight it can give locking issues....VDUB...

Thanks for this tip: I let the cable out about 1.5mm and the door handle works flawlessly now.
    Thanks! Wife will be happy.

Good to see that you got it fixed. I did two at the same time last year (passenger front and rear) and struggled with the cable adjustment.

Sorry to drag up old thread, but I'm having issues with my drivers side door, so this seems a good place to continue the discussion.

On some occasions the unlock does not work (when pressing key fob button) - and cycling it (lock-unlock) does not help. Drivers side door simply won't unlock. I have to use the key in the door to unlock it and then it is fine.
Is this likely a problem with my central locking module in that door, or some other part of the door latching mechanism?
Want to get it sorted before I get locked out completely...
    Thanks!

It's very likely to be a wiring fault — most commonly a broken wire where the loom crosses from the door to the door pillar.

The driver's door has the most traffic, so that's where wires break first.

Does everything else on the door work?

It sounds as though its the loc module/latch assembly, if that's all that is not working.

Not too dear to replace, can get them for about $100 off eBay, and takes about an hour or so to swap over, requiring both the inner and outer door skins to be removed.

Thanks for replies. However it only does it occasionally, like once every 10 lock cycles. It does work most of the time.
