This is my first DIY so probs not that great and my car was rear-ended yesterday so i cant take pictures to give a better understanding, will update once i get a chance.
Full circle brake light DIY
Parts/Tools needed:
- Solder & soldering iron
- Some wire
- 10mm wrench
- Flat head screwdriver
Install
1. First begin by removing the rear harness for the rear lights, I found using a flat head screwdriver would do this with ease.
2. remove the two 10mm nuts on each of the tail lights and remove the tail light
3. Separate the bulb housing from the tail light.
4. Remove the bulbs so they don’t break or get in the way.
5. First scratch the surface with a screwdriver & then you will need to bridge the two points using a small piece of wire on the bulb housing like the image below using your solder & soldering iron. (make sure the wire is short and stuck down so it doesn’t make contact with anything else)
6. Place the bulbs back in & and test
NOTE: You will get a rear tail light error which you will need VCDS to stop it, if it bugs you
Ross Tech
you will need to go into [09] - Central Electronics:
- Tick diagnosis rear parking lights active
- Or try setting rear parking light dimming to a value less than 25%
