Can you post a photo?
G'day All,
Ive damaged the paintwork (~5cm x 5cm warped and chipped paint) on my centre dash air conditioning assembly and am trying to work out the most efficient way to fix it, I.e. Replace the whole panel or can I simply paint over the damaged area? Any advice is much appreciated.
Cheers,
jason

what did you do ? lookls like paint stripper?
Looks like adhesive of some sort reacted with paint. You should be able to get that piece of console trim from a wrecker or from ebay.
If you go to youtube, you should be able to find a video showing you how to dismantle that part of the console trim. SuperCheap Auto sell sets of plastic auto trim removal tools which will help you do the job without damaging the surrounding console/trim. On the back damaged console trim piece there should be a VW part number (eg 123 456 789X). You can often use this part number on ebay to find the bit that you need.

Yep that is not going to be easy to repair, just replace the part.
