The cracks extend all way from inner to outer in a jagged manner ( like a lightning bolt) in at least 2 places usually about 15º – 25º apart

You might want to consider finding a friendly, local, independent, VW-specialist mobile mechanic, who can come to you and replace the pads and rotors at your place.

If my memory serves me correctly, I understand that there is a bloke on this forum who might fit that description . . .

I am led to believe that Umai Naa!! = Dean from VW Mobile Servicing.

I have not used Dean's services myself as I am fortunate enough to live near a friendly, independent VW-specialist mechanic (Canberra VW Centre). However, I have found him to be a helpful contributor here on the forum who is always willing to provide good technical information. If CVWC were ever not available to look after my fleet then Umai Naa!! would be the first person I would call.
