Looks good Caff, I've had the same experience with P4E. **** to deal with.

I just got a VWR Lower Subframe Mount installed on my car, don't worry it'll be worth the wait

Regrading projector lights I believe there is Hennessy Styling Co. that import those sorts of things.

    Update time!

5 hour return road trip to Coffs and $250 later i picked up some headlights.
2 hours in the drive this morning and a few coffees later they were in!

Test fitted the Neuspeed carbon fiber engine cover but am in need of the drivers side factory cowl bracker if i want to safely mount it.
It will look the goods once fitted though

If anyone has this part and would like to donate it to a good home, please let me know

Downpipe is next on the list. I am thinking about the $250 catless cheapy ebay unit and then having a decent cat added and the terrible Vband clamps cut off it and welded together. I won't be able to brag that i have a APTS branded downpipe but at least i'll have money left in the bank for the next round of mods which will include a quality intercooler.

I also recently received a bluetooth OBDII adapter and downloaded Torque Pro.
All went really well and it confirmed my suspicions of running around 16psi worth of boost.
The only let down was that i was hoping to get a readout from the trans temp sensor but to no avail

Trying to decide now if i sell my Newsouth column mounted boost guage before i fit it and replace the Kenwood double DIN stereo with an 8" Android unit so i can run Torque through that or keep the boost guage.... decision decision?

    Looking good Caff!
Lights are nice and shiny again!!

If your looking at upgrading your stereo head united definitely go android.

Analog gauge like the New South would give more accurate readings AFAIK.

    This finally arrived Friday...

It will be fitted along with a 3" downpipe and my boost gauge late next week with a bit of luck.

Photo's some time mid week of the exhaust

    Update:

I did not get any work done during the week. Took everything to my mechanic and booked it in for Wednesday.
All parts are here and ready to go in...

The welds are a lot cleaner than i had expected. Considering they were most likely done by a 12 year old Chinese kid, i say good on him. I could not have done any better and i am certainly not complaining for the price.

    Vemon 3" 200cpi catalytic converter.

    Colum mounted boost guage.

The car is being picked up Wednesday morning at 8am from my work and i'll have to walk over when i finish work around 1pm to see how far along they have got.

    Looking forward to getting back

I also ordered an aftermarket intercooler to go in some time in the future. At which point i will adjust my headlights so they are not so wok eyed!

    Nice!
Can't wait to see everything all fitted!
That Boost gauge will be needed.

    Tomorrow is the big day!

Then i'll find the time when the intercooler arrives to fit it.
After that, im undecided as to weather or not i'll stick with the current GIAC tune or have it removed and go for a weekend trip to Sydney to take ETuners up on their MK5 engine/DSG tune combo.

Once all that is done, it's time to save for a Frankenturbo upgrade

    IT went well thanks Locky!

I had to replace one of the bolts on the dogbone as they supply a spacer and a short bolt. Did not look so safe to me as there was not many threads securing it to the subframe so i got a hold of a longer one for piece of mind.
I gave it a bit of the old launch control on the way home to find zero wheel hop... job done and very pleased with it so far. I can notice a very slight vibration but nothing to worry about compared to what other people have described.

The exhaust got welded up nicely. There was a bit of gap to fill but it looks pretty good in my opinion.
I had planned on deleting the Vband joints but they lined up properly and sealed perfectly even with the cheapo Chinese clamp.
Cold start is loud as hell as well as when it gets on boost and dumps out the wastegate but it is otherwise as loud as it was before under "normal" driving conditions. Some extra pops and burbles on over run and some really crisp DSG farts now which was a nice bonus
I did not use a C02 sensor spacer as i was in a hurry to get it finished but there is no CEL to speak of as yet after 200km. I'll report back if it ever appears.

The boost gauge also got fitted. I was a bit surprised to find it reads as high as 22-23psi in the lower rev range before rolling back to around 14-16psi in the higher rev range. That explains why it pulls so well lol.

I'm hoping the CPU does some re calibrating over the next few days but i have noticed it comes on boost a lot sooner and a lot stronger obviously from being able to breath now.

Intercooler next and most likely find a new tune for it.
