Could it just be some spillage when they removed the oil filter for the DSG service?
So I'm about to buy a MK5 R32, and need some advice.
I can get it for 10600, with 195kms on it, 3 years warranty!
Has been received regularly at VW dealers, and VW specialists.
Well looked after, and drives amazingly.
However, I noticed there was oil, on the right side of the engine bay. In between the intake and front of the block.

Should I be worried about this?

Doesn't look like fresh oil. Looks more like dirt and grime from alot of driving. You could degrease the area and it would look good as new. Call me anal - but do i see some oil around the CV boot?
It could be as simple as a CV boot leak.
Our Mk V TDI is same vintage and roughly the same km, 205,000.
I just replaced all 4 CV boots, only 1 was leaking, but at that age, the rubber was just giving up, so saved time.
