    Broken MDI iPod Cable

My MDI stopped working with the iPod, and upon closer inspection of the cable, realised that the plastic nearest the connection going into the iPod had split and the internal wires were exposed.

Thinking further, it seems this was bound to happen, as I have to constantly take the iPod in and out of the car, and with the awkward angle and tightness of where the iPod sits, its no wonder the plastic split through all the activity.

I know I'm going to have to buy another cable, but has this happened to anyone else? It just seems a little poorly designed.

I've got the MDI one in the glovebox (not the one in the center bin) and take my ipod to work each day and it's fine. Around 1 year old now.

Mine is in the center bin. I'm thinking having it in the glovebox is a better option.

It's the same with any electrical cable, really. My USB/charger lead for my phone has done the same.

Chalk it up to wear and tear, and just be a little more gentle with the next one
