Hello,
Hoping for some advice to fix this issue.
We've recently bought a VW Golf, June 2008 build. The badge on the back says 2.0 FSI Pacific.
While showing my daughter some basic things, we've realised there is a problem with the brakes.
- 2 brake booster hoses were sucking in air as they had large cracks on both ends.
- I will replace these next week. We taped them up and there is no hissing anymore.
- When we start the engine, the brake pedal is very hard.
- When when we put it into gear (Reverse or drive) the brake pedal pulses quite badly.
- There is little or no assistance from the power brakes (Brake servo).
Does anyone have any advice? I am trying to keep costs down for my daughter.
Thanks in advance
Hard pedal still indicates no vacuum to the booster I feel. Fix the pipes first. Then consider the vacuum pump if it still persists.
