If it hasn't been changed before, then yes, definitely.
Some low km Jettas at great prices around at the moment.
Just picked up for a friend a MY07 Jetta TDI manual with only 33000km for $7500.00. (thats 33,000 not 133,000)
Been garaged so still looks new, Last 5 service intervals where only 2000km each.
So question is even though its been serviced regularly do you think the belt should be changed.
This model service manual does not indicate a time for cam belt replacement only distance traveled where as the
updated MY07 has distance or time which ever occurs first.

Nice find.
For some strange reason VW diesels have taken a sharp reduction in price lately
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
06 Jetta 2.0TFSI Killed by a Lexus!
09 Eos 2.0TSI DSG Loved this car but has now gone to a new home!!
14 EOS 2.0 TSI has arrived!
The MY07 before the update doesn't have a detailed service form , just pages of the same service interval so you rely on the dealer
to fill in details , theres no distance or time intervals like the updated MY07. so its not clear in the history the cam belts been changed.
So this will be a priority, will discuss with my VW independent guy up here on the Central Coast.
The only reason I bought this is its manual , I don't have much confidence in the DSG at this vintage unless I could see the mechtronics
was replaced , I hade mine replaced just out of warranty , labor charge only , overall mine has been a good car just let down by the dealer servicing experience.
Thanks guys for your input.
Oh and its a pre DPF
