    Bad Smell from Air-Con?

Hi, this is my first post here so sorry if I'm doing anything wrong.
Here's my problem. About a week ago some of my mates thought it would be funny to put a dead fish at the bottom of my windshield, right near my air con vents. Now every time I use the air con it smells of dead fish and stinks. I've tried cleaning where the fish was, getting an air freshener and spraying glen 20 down the vents continuously, however nothing seems to be working. I really need help on this issue. Any suggestions?

So this would fix the smell? How much would this cost roughly?

They're about $40 from your local VW dealer.

Easy enough to swap over. There's plenty of info on the net on how to do it.

    I negelcted to add this:

But jokes aside, the least they can do is stump up for a new filter. Or if that doesn't work, the cost of repairs.

I had a similar problem of a lingering bad smell in the air con of my MkV. Got my VW dealer to replace the pollen filter but they also suggested a sanitiser flush (for a better term) or a cleaning service of the system, as they explained the smell was actually bacteria living in the vents. I can't remember how much it cost and maybe I was being taken for a ride with an overpriced service I could have done myself for $10, but it made the smell disappear completely.

Alright I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
