Power wise is somewhere between 185 to 200 and about 380Nm depending on if you have exhaust also done, have left the stock air box so as not to upset the cars electronics. I use to have a WRX and feels as quick if not a little quicker and as a package i have no problems keeping up on a mountain run if not dissapearing up the road.

On side note the Mrs also has a Mini Cooper S.

WHat it is like in the wet though? Also is there alot of torque steer ?

The GTI doesn't need any more power down low as it can light the tyres in the wet or dry. Top end is where it is needed IMO.

Strangely there is barely any torque steer, partly i'd say due to traction control kicking in and also from not having a LSD. Never had a fight with the steering wheel so far.

In the wet is really up to your right foot, if your nice to it not really any different to standard. If your not or turn off ESP you can spin in 4th still.

And i wouldn't worry too much about top end as there's power everywhere all the way through. Just huge surges of the stuff and with the DSG i've been caught a few times changing up just at the same time the car does cos it gets to redline so much faster. And it still pulls hard even though its one gear higher than optimum.
