Thread: Anyone else hearing about short delivery delays?

Usual thing, charge "handily" for a product (and brand is a part of we're either buying, bought or waiting for) stuff parts of the process that will most affect a customer's Vinegar stroke experience - ie delivery to get the product to the customer in a timely fashion....

If the quality systems VW (should) have in place aren't telling them something's wrong and they should be "managing" their agent -"Delays at Toll" are bull****, I bought a car from VW not from Toll - VW promised me delivery on a date their systems need to manage it..

That looks like a rant but it's all too common to blame (Look at the number of occurences in this thread) "a contractor" cause then it's not the seller's fault.... I didn't hire Toll, Patricks or XYZ Shipping - I bought a VW, VW promised me delivery on a date - it's not delivered -guess what not VW's fault,,,,

You can tell I've had insurance claims (And that I'm a grumpy boy having to drive my old car a 1000 kays in two days when I wanted the R32)

    Promised by Austral Brisbane

I was promised that mine would be here today, it wasn't till I rang them yesterday that they said.... oh, compliancing, maybe a couple of days....

Ring your rep and ask him if he's "aware" of any potential delays as you are having to make weekend plans....

Ask if his current deliveries are coming in when scheduled....

And what the delay is if they aren't....

DP ALERT: Sorry - today, when (again) I rang the guy who happily took my 65 grand but right now doesn't return calls quite so quickly (Got him third try), "It's now oh probably a week" (but really I've got your money, so I can't go through the grief of calling you to update you),,,,,

TP ALERT: Sorry so Mine's a R32 Silver Man 5Door with Recaros - and if it's due to be here Friday, I'm betting it's in the same batch - my guess... My guy was a little more "optimistic" than yours

I got mine through fleet and was getting all sorts of stories that didn't add up from the fleet sales people at Inchcape. So I rang the dealer who took me for a test drive, got put through to a new guy who didn't know he was supposed to lie to me, and he told me the actual story.

In other words, complete fluke that I found out the real story.

Anyone know of a friendly Inchcape employee who will respond well to a box of stubbies?

If it is any consolation AUDI are doing it too.

Wifey's boss has ordered a Q7 to replace is Jag. Got a delivery date which was before the rego ran out on the Jag.

The Q7 wasn't going to turn up on time so they gave him a Demo Q7 so he didn't have to re register the car.

Well I spoke to the dealer principal yesterday (rather than the sales guy) and the delivery co-ordinator.

Turns out my sales guy is famous for pulling delivery dates out of thin air. However, found the following interesting info (for future reference)

    1. Dealers do not have direct access to compliance information from Patricks.
    2. Dealers _do_ have access to "released" and "due" to ship status.
    3. Due and released to ship are very different.
    4. Generally the freight companies do not give any information after due to ship, until the car turns up at it's destination (the dealer's yard)

My sales guy earned himself another ******** from the sales manager for stuffing me around, and they have offered to throw in a couple of freebies for my aggravation. I'd still rather have the car...........

    Next week at this point
