Exclamation Air noise replacing turbo sound

hey guys, i have a mk5 golf gt sport 2.0 tdi manual,
the issue i am having is a noise that sounds like air going through a pipe when i accelerate.
this happens only when my car has heated up and when i accelerate, it has replaced the usual sound i would hear from the turbo and is unpleasant.
If anyone knows what the issue might be or how i could fix it, also if needed more information, please help me

    thank you

Probably a boost leak. There are a lot of places it could leak from, its just a matter of doing a thorough check of all the boost piping most likely.

Sometimes the spring clips can break where the compression fittings are and if they are still stuck in the groove, the fitting can push out a little bit and the o-ring wont seal properly any more. if the clip drops out completely, the hose will blow off entirely and the car will go into limp mode so that the turbo doesnt overspeed. You'll also notice if this happens the induction noise will be really loud

Sounds like a boost leak. Has the performance dropped, smoke out the exhaust under acceleration?

A job for a mechanic if you don't do your own servicing.

If it hasn't lost power (re boost leak) check the alternator clutch pulley.
Mine was making a noise that sounded like a boost leak and it was this.
Start your and watch the tensioner, if it's jumping around the clutch pulley is rooted.

Exactly what I was going to recommend.. Pull off the drivebelt and spin up the alternator pulley by hand, you'll hear it if its bust, believe me.

hey guys, thanks for all the replies, i wouldnt have an idea of how to do or check any of those things so ill pass it over to a mechanic, thanks for giving me an idea on what the issue might be, in response to some of you guys, it doesn't seem as if it has lost power, it is just the noise that occurs when you should be hearing the turbo working (if that makes sense) and i try not to push it until i get it checked out.
I dont want to make any issue worse so i try driving it slowly and it doesnt make the noise
