Beyond that you've obviously got a short somewhere, no.
However, since it's been blowing smoke, you should be able to locate the point where its burning.
Failing that, take it to your local auto electrician, who'll find it for you.
Hi all. Having an issue with my aircon resistor. It blew a while ago so the aircon would only work on 4 - the highest, and smoke came out of the vents and a burning smell. It was replaced and only lasted a week before it happened again. The fuse also blew for the actual blower. Replaced that and that lasted 24 hours before blowing again. Have changed the fuse 3 times and lasted maximum 4 days before blowing again. There was also smoke when that blew one of the times.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks

Termofuses blow when there is too much of an current passing by. This is most likely caused by failing Blower.

Yes the blower motor is most likely seized. Hides up under the glove box above passenger feet. Pretty easy to access and remove. Can be disassembled clean and lube “bearings” should see it go again, possibly with a bit of noise.
The speed control resistor lives in the air duct for cooling which is why you get smoke from the vents when it over heated and burnt out.
