Replace iPod dock for aux in/bluetooth

    Hi all,

    I have a TDI Jetta MK5.
The vehicle came with iPod connectivity, with a 30pin connector in the glovebox.

I would like to remove this and replace with either a cable which can plug straight into my mobile or a Bluetooth setup.

From what I have read online the 30pin cable will go to a small box (which allows tracks to be manipulated by the RCD310 headunit buttons) and then another cable from the box goes to the back of the RCD310.

If this is correct, this cable is removed from the back of headunit and replace with something else.

Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth setup to plug in replace of the existing iPod?

    Thanks

Thanks buddy.... I've found the websites and will look into it.

I've had something similar before but it was a cheap Chinese one of eBay and the iPod dock didn't detect it.

There are also options on eBay for a fully Bluetooth kit removing the iPod connectivity altogether and swapping out and they are less, but how good they are I don't know.

Would you consider an upgrade to the RCD330+ ?

Seems like a really good upgrade/option for everyone.

    Thanks Hawk.

I had a check on rcd330+ - it does look like a good option.

It's probably a bit more than I am willing to spend as I do want a new car BUT if I look at a Bluetooth replacement which is about $160 which involves moving stereo out to disconnect iPod and connect Bluetooth, for another 50 or so bucks I can replace the whole headunit with RCD330+ which appears to be straight swap Bluetooth integrated, touch screen, android auto.

I will likely have the car for a while yet, and I use it heavily for work so may be worth it and I can always put RCD310 back in.

Do you recommend any places to buy RCD330+?
