Thread: 9L/100Km is this normal for Auto 1.6L Petrol?

Oh one other thing, someone mentioned I may have a minor tuning problem. Well, the engine tickles (?) a bit when I push th accelerator. Is that a tuning problem or octane too low? BTW, the fuel flap does say 91 is ok. Thanks

thats probs the engine retarding because you running 91.

My .:R says its ok to run 95 too, but why use something lower grade when its designed to take better fuel.

Would you rather drink a glass of Moet & Chandon or some cheap rubbish out of a box??

V-Power Racing... any noticable differences to the 98?

i've never actually used 100RON V-Power Racing cos you cant get that anymore.

But I dont use the normal 98 V-Power. Get too many bad batches. I use Vortex 98 mainly and BP when i can't get Vortex.

Maybe I will try higher octane fuel and also look to replace the air filter. Can I do this myself or should I bring it to the dealer? Thanks
It is fairly easy DIY work for the air filter. $40 costs of filter from VW, undo 6 screws from outside of the filterbox and 1 screw in side, pull out the plasitc position-lock key, replace new filter and refix... It takes me 5 mins for the job.

Sprak plugs also scheduled for change in 4 years, it can be slightly difficul if without the right tool.
