3dr GTIs now available in Australia!

Over the last couple of weeks 3drs have, almost secretly, been getting delivered around the country. Lennock in Canberra have already delivered 1, almost 2. And they also have 2 as demonstrators.

The official announcement was made at the Motor Show in Sydney last month. Although finding anything to confirm this is nigh on impossible. The best part is, the 3dr is $1500 less than the 5dr, and is made in Wolfsburg. All other options are as per the South African built 5dr.

IMO they look the ducks guts! If you're keen get on to you local dealer soon, before you miss out!

It looks more of a sports car than the 5 door I reckon. More of a light weight sleeker look I think.

They're just the light weight versions I reckon...
I did like a 4dr though... DSG, traditional GTI seats, minus sunroof minus bi-xenon lights... lighter and tougher body?

I believe, if you compared a stock manual 5dr to a stock manual 3dr, the correct figure is 36kg, depending on options of course. Not really a big deal either way.

Surprisingly no, but, one day, I would love a Mk1 3dr. They're easily my favourite shape in the Golf range. In a few years time maybe.

Thank you for contacting us through the Volkswagen Australia Website.

In reply to your email enquiry, I can advise that the GTi Golf is available in both 3 and 5 door versions and there are no plans to discontinue either version.
